Starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, Verity adapts Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name. In September, CNN Brasil reported advance ticket sales in Brazil and the release date planned at the time. The story begins with a writing job that soon takes a darker turn.CNN Brasil ↗

Dakota Johnson plays Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer. When an accident leaves bestselling author Verity Crawford unable to keep writing, Lowen accepts an invitation from Verity’s husband, Jeremy, and moves into their home to finish the remaining books in a series.

There she finds a personal manuscript that throws everything into doubt. Is she reading the truth, fiction or an attempt at manipulation? Hathaway plays Verity and Hartnett plays Jeremy. Their relationship with Lowen drives the mystery introduced in the official subtitled trailer, without giving away the answer.official subtitled trailer ↗

The connection to the novel is established. Assessing what the adaptation cuts, retains or changes requires examining both versions; the film’s introductory material is not enough to make that comparison.
