The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is scheduled to open in Brazilian theaters on November 19, 2026. The story moves back 24 years before the start of Katniss’s saga to follow the young Haymitch Abernathy in the 50th Hunger Games, as described in Paris Filmes’ announcement.Paris Filmes’ announcement ↗

This edition is known as the Second Quarter Quell, called Segundo Massacre Quaternário in the Brazilian release material. For readers unfamiliar with the book, its place in the timeline is the useful starting point: Katniss has not yet entered the arena, but Panem, the reaping and political repression are already part of this world. Haymitch’s experience offers the way back into it.

Francis Lawrence returns to direct the adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ novel. The cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Jesse Plemons, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin and Elle Fanning. The characters’ relationships and the course of the story are left for the film; the trailer offers an introduction rather than a complete account.

Paris Filmes has released the Brazilian title, a new poster, images and the first full trailer. Check your local cinema’s listings for advance ticket sales.first full trailer ↗
