His run began with a goalless draw against Goiás on September 20, 2023. According to Flamengo’s records, Rossi was already among the club’s ten most-capped goalkeepers by the time he reached 200 appearances. That figure marks a particular point in his career, rather than an updated running total.
The club also recalled his spell without conceding a goal in 2024. Alongside his debut and the 200-appearance milestone, that run formed part of the background to the tribute.
In comments published by Flamengo, Rossi said he had arrived wanting to write his own chapter in the club’s history. He also spoke of his family’s happiness in Rio and his wish to keep playing for Flamengo for many years. That was a personal ambition, not a new contract announcement.
