Beyond the anime: telling Brazil’s The Apothecary Diaries light novel and manga editions apart
Alt’s announced prose edition and Panini’s manga are separate publishing lines. Old preorder reports do not establish current stock.

Readers who want to follow Maomao into the books first need to choose a version. The light novel and manga of The Apothecary Diaries have different publishers in Brazil. Sharing a title does not mean that matching volume numbers cover the same parts of the story.
In a June 3, 2026 report, JBox said Alt would bring out the light novel, while Panini publishes the manga adaptation by Itsuki Nanao and Nekokurage. The prose edition credits Hyuganatsu for the text and Touko Shino for the illustrations, separately from the manga adaptation’s creators.June 3, 2026 report ↗
An update to the report that day recorded a planned July 23 release, in a 14 × 21 cm format with black-and-white illustrations and a color insert. Those details describe the edition announced at the time. Preorder prices, bonuses and planned release dates do not establish current stock or purchasing conditions.
To start reading exactly where the anime ends, compare the material it adapts with the edition you choose. The number on the cover — volume 1 or volume 2 — cannot establish that match on its own.
