Children’s drawings on Flamengo shirts: the idea behind the names and numbers
The initiative announced on October 24 involved six institutions, with plans for the shirts to help them raise funds.

Names and numbers on football shirts can become a canvas for children’s drawings. In an initiative announced on October 24, 2026, Flamengo invited children from six social institutions to design those details for shirts intended for the October 26 match against Atlético-MG.Flamengo announcement ↗
The idea went beyond changing how the shirts looked. Under the plan announced by the club, the shirts would be returned to the institutions after the match for use in fundraising auctions and raffles. The announcement sets out that plan; it does not confirm delivery or report how much money was raised.
The participating institutions are in Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, Goiás and Amapá. According to Flamengo, supporter organisations helped nominate the projects, connecting the initiative with communities beyond Rio.
The club has run initiatives of this kind since 2019. The drawings give children’s work a place on the team’s shirts; how much financial support the shirts generate for the institutions depends on the initiative’s subsequent results.
